Motor Valley Fest 2020
The popular festival, which is open to the public, will take place in Modena from May 14-17, 2020. Over the course of four adrenaline-filled days, the festival will offer a vast program for Italian and international tourists, families, car-lovers, sports-lovers and fans of history, art, culture and good food.

INNOVATION & TALENTS
Following last year’s success, the “Innovation & Talents” program, organized by Meneghini & Associati, returns with two days dedicated to up-and-coming talent and innovation. It begins on May 14 with the inaugural Motor Valley Fest talk at the Teatro Comunale Luciano Pavarotti, where big names from the national and international automotive industry are expected.
The talk will be an opportunity for a general analysis of the macro-trends in the sector, carried out in collaboration with McKinsey and with the participation of representatives of the most important companies in the Emilia-Romagna’s Motor Valley. In addition to Claudio Domenicali, President of the Association and Ducati Motor Holding CEO, also Stefano Domenicali, CEO Lamborghini, Horacio Pagani, CEO Pagani Automobili, Andrea Pontremoli, CEO Dallara and Harald Wester, FCA Chief Technical Officer and Maserati Chairman Executive will also attend.
Panelists will speak about high performance vehicles, with the prestigious testimonies of the Stuttgart Motor Valley and a keynote by Markus Heyn, Member of the Board of Management, Robert Bosch GmbH. Among the topics of discussion will be on the digitization in the automotive sector (with a particular focus on the customer experience and customer service,) the technical product digitalization (connectivity, insurance, AI), the impact of electricity in the Motor Valley, in racing, in sport, all connected to the theme of safety.
Furthermore, thanks to the Muner Motorvehicle University of Emilia-Romagna - a unique project – in Italy and abroad, young people will have the opportunity to choose from six new university training courses, designed to meet the specialization requests of car manufacturers – in cooperation with the Universities of Bologna, University of Ferrara, University of Modena and Reggio Emilia and University of Parma.
Make way for young people, with an event promoted by UNRAE and Autopromotec, with the collaboration of GMedu, also to be held at the Teatro Pavarotti, which will be attended by about 800 students from high schools and local universities to learn about employment and training opportunities offered by the automotive sector.
In the AGO space, the students of the universities of Emilia Romagna Region and the best Italian universities together with a hundred start-ups linked to the automotive world, will meet and have the opportunity to connect with the most important motor companies and participate in collaborative, innovation activities, creative workshops and listen to talent talks. In the same space, a selection of Formula SAE cars will also be on display, while other scientific events, conferences and seminars will be hosted in the headquarters of the Modena Chamber of Commerce.
"EXPO" will once again be the leitmotif of all the initiatives on the calendar, a real emotional journey that will enhance the excellence of this area, featuring the museums, the collections and builders of the Motor Valley, the streets and squares.
Palazzo Ducale, seat of the Military Academy of Modena, will host the Motor Valley Fest village with the public display of the Motor Valley brands and the four regional racetracks; in Piazza Roma there will be Ferrari, Maserati and Lamborghini; in Piazza Grande, Pagani and the village of the State Police; in Piazza Matteotti, a journey through gastronomic excellence with a series of themed events, tastings and cooking demonstrations created in collaboration with Piacere Modena, together with the Consortia for the protection and promotion of PDO and PGI products and the tourist reception consortia "ModenaTur" and "Modena A Tavola".
One of the architectural jewels of Modena, the Madonna del Voto Church, restored after the 2012 earthquake, will be the location of the exhibition event entitled "The Schedoni Family: 140 years of leather craftsmen. The tribute to an icon of automotive craftsmanship". The exhibit will feature some of the most precious and original pieces, made by the Schedoni family for the best car manufacturers in the world.
The Formula 1 seat covers used by drivers who have been racing the World Championship since 1983 are on display for the first time. Dallara and the “Innovation & Talents” village will be located in Largo Porta Sant'Agostino, while Largo San Francesco, in collaboration with the Maserati Club of Japan, will host the exhibition of the legendary 1996 Modena - Tokyo world tour of a young mechanic by Maserati who worked at the Maserati Mistral, and the "Jay the duck" exhibition dedicated to the special history of the Lamborghini Miura Jota.
In the central Piazza XX Settembre, an exhibition dedicated to Mauro Forghieri, the engineer of Enzo Ferrari, will be set up for all fans of the Prancing Horse. In addition to the photos, the historical items and the awards he received during his career, some of the cars he worked on will be on display. Among the vehicles that will be presented include the Ferrari road Gtb, the Lamborghini Formula 1, the Bugatti 110 model, the car that represented the inauguration of the Campogalliano factory at the Champs Elysées in Paris, led by Alain Delon. It is a one-of-a-kind piece that has allowed the Bugatti production to be reborn.
A link between cars, fashion and cinema will be the theme of the exhibition at the San Carlo Foundation entitled "Fashion and Motors: Action..We are rolling!" In collaboration with Modena Amore Mio, from an idea by Stefano Dominella, the exhibition path traces through cars on display and dresses on mannequins, creations made by well-known stylists and young designers.
The Storchi Theater will host the TEDx Modena conference on Sunday, May 17th.
The MEF will house a family area dedicated to 0-17 year olds with a path dedicated to simulators; The Ferrari Park, between via Italia and Via Emilia, will host the Due Ruote Village (i.e Two Wheels), with an exhibition dedicated to the Vespa and Lambretta from May 16th-17th.
At Palamolza, in an area of over 20,000 square ft, there will be the second edition of the Motor Sim Show, with the F1, GT, Rally and Moto GP simulators dedicated to racing and sport games available. The public will be able to try their hand at simulators and watch competitions among the best drivers on the scene. In 2019 Matteo Bobbi, Sergio Campana, Andrea Bertolini and Andrea Montermini participated, with commentary by Nicola Villani, the Motorsport Guru.
The entire collection of the model maker Allegro Pelloni is on display for the first time in the historic San Agostino Pharmacy; twenty handmade pieces 1/8 scale models of Ferrari, Maserati, Lancia, Mercedes, Alfa Romeo vehicles, as well as fifteen unique tin pieces from Marco Zanasi's private collection. Piazzale San Giorgio will host the museum village with the display of vintage cars from some national museums and private collections from the Motor Valley.
Motor1Days will also animate the city of Modena in Piazza Mazzini with an exhibition of the most significant super cars that the public will find on the track from May 16-17. The Ex Manifattura Tabacchi area will be dedicated to mobility solutions of families, with moments of entertainment, safety demonstrations and test-drives. This year, among the novelties, you can try some of the most interesting “rechargeable plug " models - full electric, but also plug-in hybrids. The test drives will start from the EV Village (outside the PalaMolza area) where the cars can be touched by hand and will be explained by InsideEVs.it journalists.
For those who want to hear the roar of engines up close, "ADRENALINA" will take place at the Novi Sad Park where the top manufacturers, Ferrari, Pagani, Dallara Lamborghini and Ducati’s motorbikes will take center stage.
The spectacle of one of the most anticipated attractions is the Ferrari pit stop with the performance of the Prancing Horse cars, the F1 cars and the most fascinating competition cars on display. On Sunday, May 17th, the historic motorsports scene continues with the "Land of Motors" parade, which promises to delight associations of fans and collectors of vintage cars.
The passion for adrenaline and speed will be on stage at the Autodromo of Modena which will host the Motor1stays amusement park during the weekend of May 16th-17th, the fourth edition of Motor1Days.Discover more
